Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Chartered MCIPD and significant post qualification experience
  • Significant experience of leading and managing professional HR and recruitment staff
  • Ability to motivate teams to deliver against challenging deadlines with conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to translate strategy into action and shape HR services to support organisational needs
  • Thorough and up to date knowledge and understanding of employment legislation and best HR practice
    (with a particular focus on recruitment and resourcing)
  • Experience of running complex and largescale recruitment campaigns
  • Experience in leading, managing and delivering complex HR projects/initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex issues
    succinctly in writing, and communicate contentious and sensitive issues to a range of audiences
  • Well-developed negotiating and influencing skills with the ability to build and maintain effective, positive
    working relationships with stakeholders at all levels

Desirable Criteria

  • Chartered FCIPD
  • Experience of working in the Police Service or a large public sector organisation
